Viseu acolhe Festival Internacional de Fotografia
O Fujifilm – Festival Internacional de Fotografia de Viseu decorre entre os dias 5 de maio e 4 de junho, estando esperadas 18 mil pessoas neste evento.
Os temas centrais deste Festival são as questões sociais e o ambiente, dando privilégio ao ensaio fotográfico. Este Festival tem uma particularidade que o distingue de todos os outros que acontecem no país, ancorando-se no ensaio fotográfico, sendo que tudo o que se vai ver neste Festival, à exceção dos “Instagrammers”, serão ensaios fotográficos de fotógrafos consagrados.
Estima-se que cerca de 18 mil a 26 mil pessoas vejam este Festival, sendo que mais de 600 mil deverão ser alcançadas online e entre 150 a 300 mil Instagrammers terão contacto com o evento.
Esperam-se histórias contadas pela fotografia e mesmo que o Instragram pareça sair um pouco da lógica do Festival, a organização considera interessante a dinâmica mais contemporânea que transmite ao evento.
O festival tem uma dimensão internacional, possibilitando ver em Viseu, por exemplo, a exposição individual “Europe’s New Borders”, de Rasmus Degnbol (Dinamarca), que já esteve no Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) de Nova Iorque.
No que respeita à dimensão nacional, John Gallo destacou a exposição individual “Talibes, Modern Day Slaves”, de Mário Cruz, fotojornalista da agência Lusa, que no ano passado venceu o prémio World Press Photo, na categoria Temas Contemporâneos, com este trabalho.
Mas o festival tem também uma dimensão local, envolvendo a cidade, os seus fotógrafos e algumas das suas escolas.
A brasileira Letícia Valverdes, cuja avó era do Mundão (Viseu), vai estar durante um mês a trabalhar no ensaio “Postcards for my portuguese grandmother”, que depois resultará numa exposição.
No total, o festival integra 14 exposições, sendo uma coletiva e 13 individuais, com 18 ensaios expostos.
De entre os fotógrafos que estarão em Viseu há alguns que já foram premiados pela UNESCO, vencedores do World Press Photo ou mesmo alguns que tiveram exposições no MOMA. Haverá ainda lugar para uma Masterclass ministrada por Roger Tooth, diretor de fotografia do The Guardian.
Homem Cardoso, Alfredo Cunha e Mário Cruz são alguns dos nomes portugueses presentes no Festival.
o festival irá dividir-se pelo Solar do Vinho do Dão e o Museu Nacional de Grão Vasco e outros espaços como, por exemplo, um dos pisos de estacionamento de um centro comercial, que acolherá uma exposição sobre ambiente.
