Follow Inspiration do Fundão na Web Summit

Decorre em Lisboa, de 7 a 10 de novembro o Web Summit, um dos maiores eventos europeus de tecnologia, empreendedorismo e inovação.

Este ano conta com 40 mil participantes, mais de duas mil empresas, mil investidores e 650 oradores das maiores empresas tecnológicas mundiais. Um evento que se torna uma montra à escala global de tecnologia e onde só as melhores empresas estão representadas.

Em Portugal foram escolhidas 66 empresas Startup, sendo que 14 são da região centro, na sua maioria da zona de Coimbra, mas há uma que destacamos por ser aqui da região e pelo cariz do seu objeto de trabalho, a “Follow Inspiration”, uma Statup do Fundão e que vai à Web Summit apresentar o seu projeto, wiiGO, um carrinho de compras autónomo que quase conduz sozinho.

O sector de atuação deste carrinho de compras do futuro e que irá ser um grande auxilio para pessoas de mobilidade reduzida é o sector de retalho (super e hipermercado).

Este carrinho pretende ajudar as pessoas de mobilidade reduzida no transporte de compras de forma fácil e cómoda, melhorando a experiência dos clientes em loja.

As 66 startups foram escolhidas no Road 2 Web Summit, um concurso criado pelo Governo para as startups portuguesas que quisessem participar no Web Summit.

O concurso Road 2 Web Summit, cuja final se realizou no 21 de setembro, em Lisboa, recebeu 237 inscrições de startups, tendo sido apuradas 170 finalistas, de onde foram selecionadas as 66 vencedoras.

De acordo com Ana Abrunhosa, presidente da Comissão de Coordenação e Desenvolvimento Regional do Centro (CCDRC), “20% das empresas portuguesas consideradas mais inovadoras são da Região Centro. Este número destaca a importância de uma boa envolvente científica e tecnológica às empresas, que lhes proporciona apoio e incentivos para o desenvolvimento de soluções de mercado/tecnológicas inovadoras e com um grande potencial de negócio.

Estas startups estão em geral fortemente ligadas aos centros de conhecimento locais e em muitos casos localizam-se em infraestruturas tecnológicas que têm por missão apoiar as startups nas mais diversas vertentes, para além do apoio logístico.

O mercado destas empresas é o mercado global, e este reconhecimento bem como a exposição que o evento Web Summit lhes vai proporcionar, constitui mais um fator de importante de credibilidade para a entrada/expansão nos mercados internacionais, onde aliás, algumas já trabalham».
