Continuamos a ser reconhecidos, mundo fora, pela qualidade dos nossos vinhos.

Desta vez foi a revista americana “Wine Enthusiast”, que na sua lista dos 100 vinhos recomendados pela excelente relação preço-qualidade (Best Buy), conta com o 9 vinhos portugueses, dois no Top 10, incluindo o Pedra Cancela seleção do Enólogo tinto 2010 na sétima posição com um total de 92 pontos.

Para ser um Best Buy, o vinho tem de conseguir uma boa pontuação e ter um preço económico que, normalmente, nos EUA não passa dos 15 dólares.

Segundo a revista, dos quase 19.500 vinhos analisados este ano, menos de 7% conseguiu esta distinção, o que os torna ainda mais especiais.

Em 2014 Portugal contou com 6 vinhos nesta lista, este ano subiu para 9 o que atesta o reconhecimento, cada vez maior, dos vinhos nacionais.

Os vinhos Pedra Cancela são produzidos na Região Demarcada do Dão e são nascidos da paixão da família Gouveia que explora o vinho há várias gerações.

Em 1999, João Paulo Gouveia, filho de João Coelho Gouveia, termina os seus estudos em Viticultura e Enologia e abraça do negocio de família e partem para a produção própria, procedendo a uma reestruturação profunda das vinhas e adega, sempre com um profundo respeito pela cultura do da Região Demarcada do Dão.

Quanto ao vinho selecionado pela Wine Enthusiast pode-se dizer que é um vinho de fermentação com suave maceração e controlo de temperatura entre 16º e 18º C .

O Estágio de 6 meses foi feito em barricas de carvalho “Allier” e contou ainda com 3 meses de estágio de cave antes de ser colocado à venda.

O engarrafamento é de 2012.

Quanto à cor, é um vinho com um Intenso Ruby, com ligeiro toque grená.

O Aroma é de intensos frutos vermelhos, ameixa madura e toques de cacau.

Na boca revela uma frescura e um corpo suave e taninos elegantes característicos dos vinhos do Dão, o final de prova é muito suave, agradável e longo.

Deve ser servido a 16ºC e acompanha bem carnes vermelhas e queijos de pasta mole.

Pode ser consumido de imediato ou nos próximos 3 anos, desde que guardado deitado em local fresco e sombrio.
