É esse o caso do prémio Eduardo Lourenço, atribuído pelo Centro de Estudos Ibéricos com sede na Guarda e que, este ano, assinala a sua 12ª edição.

Estão, então, abertas as inscrições para este prémio cujo objetivo passa por premiar personalidades ou instituições com intervenção relevante no âmbito da cultura, cidadania e cooperação ibéricas.

Este prémio já foi atribuído a personalidades de relevo nacionais e espanholas como Maria Helena da Rocha Pereira, Professora Catedrática de Cultura Greco-Latina (2004), Agustín Remesal, Jornalista (2006), Maria João Pires, Pianista (2007), Ángel Campos Pámpano, Poeta (2008), Jorge Figueiredo Dias, Professor Catedrático de Direito Penal (2009) e César António Molina, Escritor (2010), Mia Couto, Escritor (2011), José María Martín Patino, Teólogo (2012) e Jerónimo Pizarro, Professor e Investigador (2013), Antonio Sáez Delgado Professor e Investigador (2014) e Agustina Bessa Luís, Escritora (2015).

O prémio tem o valor de 7,500€ e é atribuído por um júri constituído por membros da Direção do Centro de Estudos Ibéricos (Reitor da Universidade de Coimbra, Reitor da Universidade de Salamanca e Presidente da Câmara Municipal da Guarda), e por mais 8 personalidades sendo, este ano, presidido pelo Reitor da Universidade de Salamanca.

As candidaturas são propostas por instituições ou pessoas, acompanhadas do curriculum do candidato e da documentação que os proponentes considerem útil e pertinente para a decisão do Júri e devem ser feitas até dia 11 de abril de 2016. Também os membros do Júri podem apresentar propostas de candidaturas ao Prémio, inclusive, na própria reunião de seleção de candidaturas. As decisões do Júri são tomadas por maioria e não são passiveis de recurso.
