Gosto desta sensação quase rotineira do passar dos dias na Serra da Estrela. Gosto da sensação de conforto que os dias de Inverno passados à lareira nos dão. Gosto do frio, embora este ano ainda não o tenha sentido com todo o rigor que estas terras conhecem.
Viver numa cidade do Interior fez-me dar valor a coisas simples, tomadas por muitos como certas, mas que na verdade poucos temos, ou sabemos o que é ter, como o luxo de ter tempo. Tempo para apreciar as coisas boas da vida como uma boa música, um passeio com a família, um fim de dia com os amigos na esplanada, ou um inicio de noite tranquilo sentada no sofá a ver, pela milésima vez, o Gru o Mal Disposto com o meu filho.
Há pequenas coisas, simples, que me fascinam cada vez mais e sobre as quais dou comigo, entusiasmada, a falar aos meus amigos e familiares do norte, “a sério tens de provar, é delicioso!” ou um “Vá lá, bebe não te vais arrepender”. Foi o que aconteceu no passado fim-de-semana, quando “Guimarães veio à Serra” (é assim que me refiro quando a família vem de visita). Fomos almoçar ao restaurante da praxe, bem conhecido por estas bandas, e claro que a minha sobremesa serrana de eleição não podia faltar, e lá tive de me lambuzar.
Lembro-me da primeira vez que a comi, tão simples, tão bonita. O singelo e delicioso Requeijão com Doce de Abóbora caseiro. Não fiquei indiferente nem ao aspeto e muito menos ao sabor.
Fiz como me disseram: uma generosa fatia do branco e cremoso Requeijão da Serra da Estrela com uma colherada, não menos generosa, do dourado e pecaminoso Doce de Abóbora, rústico, com grandes pedaços cristalizados. Levei à boca, um pouco apreensiva, confesso, porque até nem sou muito fã do dito doce, ou pelo menos não era até então, foi uma descoberta maravilhosa, cremosa, doce e viciante! A textura destes dois componentes foi uma festa para as minhas papilas gustativas e, desde então, no Inverno, é das sobremesas que mais me confortam.
“Provem, vão gostar”, e não é que gostaram?
Sei bem que Portugal está cheio de sobremesas maravilhosas, autênticos cartões de visita gastronómicos e, sendo eu Minhota, venho de uma região rica em sabores, sou, portanto, uma sortuda, por ter um pouco destes dois mundos (Minho e Beira Interior), no meu cardápio habitual. Mas na Serra da Estrela descobri sabores genuínos que me surpreendem a cada dentada.
O Requeijão com Doce de Abóbora é uma daquelas sobremesas simples, que com os produtos certos é uma autentica Ode à Serra. A sobremesa deste restaurante, bem conhecido, ali para os lados de Gouveia, é deliciosa porque mantém a genuinidade dos seus produtos, mas confesso, que foi no dia em que provei o Doce de Abóbora com Requeijão caseiro que descobri as diferentes nuances de sabor que existem entre o que é feito em grande quantidade e o que é criado pelas mãos calejadas de sabedoria.
A sobremesa Requeijão com Doce de Abóbora é daqueles doces que recomendo a quem visitar a Serra da Estrela. Não se deixem enganar pela sua aparente simplicidade pois de simples não tem nada. É o exemplo de uma sobremesa que contem a Serra na sua essência e, tal como a terra onde ele nasceu, é absolutamente surpreendente.
